Shnyder and Wilson Sweep PSAC Weekly Softball Awards

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University softball players Jess Shnyder (Milton/Milton) and Jaime Wilson (Olyphant/Bishop O'Hara) have been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the period ending April 19th.

Shndyer, a junior, hit .552 last week with four homers and 13 RBI with a slugging percentage of 1.207. Shnyder was 16-29 with 10 runs scored five doubles and one triple for 35 total bases in a 7-1 week. In a twinbill at West Chester, she was 4-7 with two homers and five RBI.

For the season, the 2002 first team All-American, leads the team in hitting at .364, homers with seven, RBI with 27, run scored with 25 and in hits with 47. She also has a team-best slugging percentage of .698.

Wilson, a sophomore, was 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three games last week. She allowed just one unearned run in 18 innings of work and threw two shutouts while striking out 14 and walking just three. Opponents hit just .136 off her for the week. She threw back-to-back shutouts on consecutive days against Millersville and Mansfield after picking up a win in relief against Millersville earlier in the week.

For the season, Wilson is 8-2 with a team-best 0.56 ERA. She has four shutouts and five complete games, while striking 45 and walking just eight.

Bloomsburg, 28-8, 15-3 in the PSAC East, will visit Millersville on Tuesday.
