Box Score-GAME ONE

Box Score-GAME TWO

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University hit three solo home runs and pitcher Amber Cowher (Williamsport/Williamsport) allowed just three hits to lead the Huskies to a 3-0 win over Lock Haven in game one of a doubleheader on Wednesday. In game two, the Huskies edged the Lady Eagles 1-0 .

The Huskies jumped out in front of game one in the bottom of the first when Jess Shnyder (Milton/Milton) led off the inning with a home run. It was the second straight day Shnyder has started the game with a home run and the third time this season. In the second inning, Sara Roba (Emmaus/Emmaus) hit a solo shot for the Huskies to make it a 2-0 game. Then in the third inning, freshman Tina Jennosa (Downingtown/Hauppauge) hit a solo homer to straight away center for Bloomsburg's third run.

From there, Cowher shut down the Lady Eagles and did survive Lock Haven's one scoring threat in the top of the sixth. With two outs, Lynn Spiezo singled and Stephanie Hallowell walked before Cowher got Kelly Deitrick to strike out to end the inning.

In game two, the teams were locked in a scoreless battle until the bottom of the fifth inning when Laurel Koster (Whitney Point, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) singled with two outs. Shnyhder then followed with a double scoring Koster with the game's only run.

Pitcher Amanda Smith (Sandy Ridge/Philipsburg-Osceola) tossed the shutout, the Huskies' fourth straight, by surrendering just one hit.

Bloomsburg, 11-5, will host Millersville on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
