Bloomsburg Softball Team Sweeps Felecian College

LODI, NJ—The Bloomsburg University softball team swept two games from Felecian College on Tuesday winning 6-0 and 9-0.

In the opener the Huskies had three players with three hits each, Alyson Taylor (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore), Sara Roba (Emmaus/Emmaus) and Laurel Koster (Whitney Point, NY/Cicero North Syracuse). Taylor had a two-run homer, while Roba had three doubles and two runs batted in.

Pitcher Amanda Smith (Sandy Ridge/Philipsburg-Osceola) tossed a two-hitter and struck out 10 to earn the win.

In game two, the teams were scoreless through four innings when the Huskies scored twice in the fifth, five in the sixth and two more in the seventh to get the win.

Kelly Zarski (Danville/Danville) paced the offense by going 3-4 with a grand slam homer; while Koster and Sarah McDaniel (Dallastown/Dallastown) each had solo homers.

Pitcher Jaime Wilson (Olyphant/Bishop O'Hara) also threw a two-hitter and struck out 10 for the win.

The Huskies, 17-1, will host West Chester on Friday at 2 p.m.
