MILLERSVILLE—The Bloomsburg University softball team extended its winning streak to 16 straight with a sweep of Millersville University by scores of 3-1 and 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

In game one, the Huskies rallied from a 1-0 deficit by scoring three times in the top of the fifth inning. Amanda Breon (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) singled in Tara Emery (Sunbury/Shikellamy) with the tying run. Kelly Zarski (Danville/Danville) then followed with a two-run homer to give Bloomsburg a 3-1 lead.

Jaime Wilson (Olyphant/Bishop O'Hara) pitched the first four innings to earn the win with relief help from Amanda Smith (Sandy Ridge/Philipsburg-Osceola) who got the save with three shutout innings of work.

In game two, the Huskies scored twice in the first inning and added two more runs in the fourth inning to win 4-0. Breon singled and scored the first run after Zarski reached on a three-base throwing error. Dee Wolfe (Milton/Milton) then singled home Zarski with the second run of the inning.

In the fourth, Breon and Zarski each had RBI singles to give the Huskies the 4-0 advantage. That was all that freshman sensation Sheelin Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) needed as she pitched a two-hit shutout and extended her scoreless streak to begin her collegiate career to 24 innings.

The Huskies, 21-1, will host Holy Family on Friday at 2 p.m.
