Box Score
SHIPPENSBURG —Pinch hitter Tina Jennosa (Downingtown/Hauppauge) hit an RBI double to right field to drive in pinch runner Jess Snader (Mount Joy/Donegal) to score the only run of the game as the Bloomsburg Huskies went on to defeat the Shippensburg Lady Raiders 1-0 on Friday afternoon in the seventh game of the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Region tournament.
Tiff Corliss (Lewisburg/Lewisburg) singled to third base before Snader came in to pinch run. Alyson Taylor reached on an error by the first baseman on a bunt attempt, moving Snader to third before Jennosa's game winning hit.
It was a pitchers dual throughout, as the Huskies Amanda Smith (Sandy Ridge/Philipsburg-Osceola) and Shippensburg starter Kelley Tiesi battled it out for four innings, before Tiesi was relieved by Danielle Shields. Shields pitched the final three innings and allowed one run on three hits.
Smith allowed four hits in the game with seven strikeouts. She gets the win to go to 16-3 on the year.
Bloomsburg was led by Jennosa, who went 1-for-1 with one RBI. Shippensburg's Liz Corr led the Lady Raiders, going 2-for-3.
