Bloomsburg Routs Winston-Salem in Softball on Monday
WINSTON-SALEM, NC—The Bloomsburg University softball team ran its season record to 4-0 with a sweep of a doubleheader with Winston-Salem State on Monday. The Huskies won by scores of 12-0 (5 in) and 12-2 (5 in).

In the opener, freshman pitcher Ashley Lynn (Riverside/Danville) tossed a one-hitter while striking out nine to lead Bloomsburg to the win. Offensively, the Huskies put the game away with a five-run second inning highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of senior Laurel Koster (Whitney Point, NY/Cicero North Syracuse). Amanda Breon (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) also drove in two runs in the game with a double in a five-run fourth inning.

In game two, the Huskies were leading 6-2 heading into the fifth inning when they put the game out of reach by scoring six times. Tiff Corliss (Lewisburg/Lewisburg) led off the inning with a homer to make it 7-2. Jill Homyak (Lehighton/Marian Catholic) would then single and later scored on a passed ball to make it 8-2. Then with one out and the bases loaded, Dee Wolfe (Milton/Milton) hit a grand slam for a 12-2 lead.
Jen Probst (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) started for the Huskies and earned the win, while Sheelin Fisher Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) pitched the final two innings. Probst struckout four in her three innings, while Fisher fanned four in two innings.
Winston-Salem falls to 0-8 with the losses.
Bloomsburg will visit Lenoir-Rhyne College on Tuesday for a twinbill starting at 1 p.m.
