BLOOMSBURG- Four Bloomsburg University softball players have been named to the 2006 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division (PSAC) team. Freshman pitcher and shortstop Tara Reed (Williamsport/ Williamsport) and senior catcher Alyson Taylor (Jersey Shore/ Jersey Shore) were named to the first team, while freshman outfielder Lisa Bohner (Northumberland/Shikellamy) and sophomore pitcher Ashley Lynn (Riverside/ Danville) were named to the second team.

Reed was named to the All-PSAC East first team at both pitcher and shortstop. She is the only player in 2006 to be named to the team at two different positions and the first since 2004. In just her first year in the league, Reed became the Huskies most dominant player, both on the mound and at the plate. Reed led the Huskies in batting average (.358), runs, (39), and RBI (30). On the mound, Reed led the Huskies with a 1.24 ERA and eight shutouts, while posting a 14-5 record. Her ERA ranks fifth in the PSAC and her opposing batting average of .178 ranks fourth. She also struck out 147 batters in 124.2 innings pitched for an average of 8.24 strikeouts per game. She needs just 11 more strikeouts to move into 10th place in school history for strikeouts in a season.

Taylor was also second on the team with a .302 batting average and fifth on the team with 23 RBI. The highlight of Taylor's season came in 6-4 extra inning win over Kutztown where she hit a two-run walk off home run.

Ashley Lynn, in just her second year, established herself as one of the top pitchers in the PSAC. For the season, Lynn led the Huskies in wins (16) and strikeouts (151), while posting a 1.46 ERA. Her 16 wins ranks fourth in the PSAC and her 151 strikeouts ranks fifth. Lynn was also named PSAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 23rd. During that week she picked up three wins, including a 4-0 win over Shippensburg where took a perfect game into the sixth inning.
