Huskies Qualify for NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional; Earn 24th Consecutive Bid

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University softball team has qualified for the 2006 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships to be held May 11-15 at Shippensburg University. It is the Huskies 24th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance.

Bloomsburg, 35-15, earned a fourth seed in this weekend's tournament and will play fifth seeded California (PA) in the first round at 2 p.m. Lock Haven University earned the top seed followed by Shippensburg and Kutztown respectively. East Stroudsburg is ranked sixth, followed by Millersville at the seventh seed and North Carolina Central at the eighth seed.

Ticket prices will be $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $2 for children. An All-Regional Pass can also be purchased for $12.

The winner of each region will advance to the finals to be held May 18-22 at the James I. Moyer Softball Complex in Salem, Virginia.
