Sheelin Fisher Named PSAC Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University pitcher Sheelin Fisher (Coplay/ Allentown Central Catholic) has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 25, 2007.

Fisher, a junior, helped the Huskies to a 6-1 week making five solid appearances and picking up three victories. For the week, she went 3-0, pitched 28 innings, struck out 30 batters and allowed just 16 hits and two earned runs.

Against West Liberty State, Fisher tossed a complete game shutout, striking out nine batters and scattering seven hits in a 7-0 win. In an 8-0 win over West Virginia State, Fisher threw five innings and allowed just two hits. She also pitched 6.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn a victory in a 5-0 win over Shepherd. In addition, Fisher pitched well in a no-decision against Goldey-Beacom as well as in a relief appearance in a loss to Gannon.

For the season, Fisher has a 4-2 record and a 2.53 E.R.A. Bloomsburg, 13-5, will play their home opener on Friday at 1 p.m. against PSAC East rival Shippensburg.
