Lynn Named PSAC East Softball Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University softball player, Ashley Lynn (Riverside/ Danville) has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 1, 2007.

Lynn, a junior, shut down two of the top teams in the PSAC East last weekend to push her record to 9-1 on the season. In a 3-2 win over 24th ranked Shippensburg, she allowed just one earned run, struck out 12 and walked one. She mowed down six more batters in a 9-0 win over Kutztown, giving up only two hits and a walk in the five-inning contest. She posted a 0.58 ERA in her 12 innings of work. For the season, Lynn has a 1.98 ERA and has struck out 68 batters in 59.2 innings pitched.

This is the second time in Lynn's career she has been named PSAC East Pitcher of the Week. It is also the second straight week a Husky has been awarded the honor. Sheelin Fisher (Coplay/ Allentown Central Catholic) took home the award last week.

Bloomsburg, 16-6, 3-1 in the PSAC East, will host West Chester on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
