Bloomsburg University Softball Ranked Ninth in the Nation


BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University softball team is ranked ninth in the nation according to the 2007 National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II preseason poll.

The Huskies finished the 2006 season with a record of 38-17 and advanced to the NCAA East Regional Championship. Bloomsburg returns the majority of last season's team, losing only two players to gradation.

Defending national champion Lock Haven received six first place votes and is ranked first in the preseason poll. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division rival Shippensburg is ranked 20th.

Bloomsburg opens their 2007 season on March 10 vs. West Georgia in Florence, South Carolina.
