Shavuan Fisher Named PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week


BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University softball player Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 8.

Fisher went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in two starts last week for Bloomsburg. She recorded 23 strikeouts in 14.0 innings of work and allowed just nine hits and two runs with seven walks. In her first start of the season, she tossed a complete game four-hitter, striking out a career-high 14 and allowing four hits and one run in a 2-1 win over Queens (N.C.). One day later, she threw another complete game, this one a five-hitter, strikeout out nine and allowing just one run in a 5-1 win over Catawba.

Bloomsburg is 5-1 on the year and will play a single game with Susquehanna on Friday at Bucknell University.
