MURFREESBORO,NC-Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) tossed a no-hitter in game one of a doubleheader to lead the Bloomsburg University softball team to a sweep of its doubleheader with Chowan University on Sunday.

Fisher fanned 10 and walked just two in throwing the no-hitter, while earning her second win of the season. The Huskies got Fisher the only run she would need in the top of the first when Nikki Shiko (Shamokin/Southern Columbia) singled, stole second, went to third on a single and scored on an error. In the second the Huskies added two more runs on RBI singles from Danielle Lazorka (Williamsport/Jersey Shore) and Lacy Mauro (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore).

In the fourth the Huskies scored the fourth run when Shiko singled, went to second on a single, stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Sam Pientack (Archbald/Valley View).

The nightcap saw the Huskies get eight hits and take advantage of three Chowan errors in earning a 7-4 win. Bloomsburg scored two runs in each of the first three innings, then, capped its scoring for the game with solo homer from Shiko in the fourth.

Pitcher Cait Paine (Lebanon/Lebanon) earned the win going the distance and working out of a seventh inning jam that saw the tying run come to the plate.

Bloomsburg, 4-0, will begin its spring break trip on Saturday in Florida.
