PSAC Individual Tennis Championships Wrap Up

BLOOMSBURG-- The 2006 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Singles and Doubles Tennis Championships wrapped up on Sunday afternoon at Bloomsburg University.

In the men's singles, Kutztown's Santiago Bequerizo took the title 6-0, 6-3 over teammate Radoslaw Hlubinski. Hlubinski knocked out Bloomsburg's Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) in the semifinals.

Taking the women's singles title was Inga Chilingaryan from California (Pa.) Chilingaryan, the number one seed, defeated number two, Kerstin Kloeffer in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.

In men's doubles, the team of Rubens Vianna and Somdeep Appineni from Kutztown won 8-2 in the finals over Patrick Luchowski and Jeff Kurz from East Stroudsburg.

Kutztown picked up it's third individual title with a win at women's doubles, as the team of Magaly Peter and Jharna Nansi defeated Bloomsburg's Tracy Nissenbaum (Allentown /William Allen) and Lauren Colfer (Philadelphia/St. Basil Academy) winning 8-3 in the finals.
