Huskies Fall in PSAC Championship Match

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team lost to Kutztown, 5-2, in the championship match of the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships. In the consolation match Mercyhurst College beat Millersville 5-3.

In the title match, Kutztown took a 2-1 lead winning at numbers two and three. Bloomsburg's lone win in doubles came from Fernando Perez (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) and Ryan Glubo (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) who pulled out an 8-6 victory.

In singles action, the Golden Bears won at numbers two, three and six to earn the victory. Bloomsburg's lone victory in singles play came at number one where Perez posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory.

Bloomsburg goes to 13-4 with the loss and will now await word on the NCAA playoffs which start in two weeks.
