Men's Tennis Falls to Concordia

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL-- The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team saw its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss to 12th-ranked Concordia College in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II championships in Florida.
Concordia (19-3) picked up the early lead after sweeping doubles competition as Andrew Boldarev and Alex Grubin defeated Bloomsburg's (12-8) Ryan Glubo (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) and Fernando Perez (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh), 8-0.
The Clippers extended their lead to 3-0 with two more wins. At number two Concordia took Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and Lee Wexler (Lafayette Hill/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) 8-5, followed by Henning Ruenz and Richi Malobicky dropping Alan Hummel (Manheim/Hempfield) and Seth Rybak (Huntingtown, MD/huntingtown) 8-3 in the third slot.
In singles play, third spot Malobicky beat Schroeder with a 6-1, 6-0 d, while Belhadj defeated Glubo 6-0, 6-1 to end the match.
