Andrea Kellock Wins PSAC Indoor 3,000 Title
EAST STROUDSBURG--Bloomsburg University's Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) took first place at 3,000 meters at the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Track championships on Sunday. The win by Kellock gave the Huskies a sweep of the distance events at the championships as Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middlesburg) won the 5,000 meter race on Saturday.
Kellock took first place with a time of 10:16.47 narrowly edging Hackenberg who finished in 10:19.30 giving the Huskies the top two finishers in the event. In addition, Ashley Schuck finished in 10:44.41.
In the mile, Kellock finished fourth with a time of 5:10.07, while Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin),, who was fighting an illness all week, finished in 5:23.
At 800 meters, Sandy Newell (St. Mary's/Elk County Catholic) was sixth out of 14 competitors in a time of 2:20.08 seconds.
On the men's side, Dan Tallarico ran the 800 meters and finished in 2:00.67.
