BU Competes at Lock Haven Track Invitational

LOCK HAVEN--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track team took part in the Lock Haven University Invitational on Sunday.

At 3,000 meters, Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) took first place in a PSAC Championship-qualifying time of 10:36.00. At 800-meters, Sandy Newell (St. Mary's/Elk County Catholic) finished first with a PSAC-qualifying time of 2:18.21 with Kristen Hoffman (Watsontown/Warrior Run) fourth in the event in 2:33.36. The women's 4 x 400 relay team was second in 4:21.55 with the team of Erin Hanosek (Macungie/Emmaus), Laura Miller (Bloomsburg, NJ/Delaware Valley Regional), Hoffman and Newell.

For the men, Jamie Waack (Leesport/Schuylkill Valley) was fifth at 800-meters in 2:03.42, while at 5,000 meters Dan Tallarico (Pittsburgh/North Hills) was second in 15:59.01. For both Waack and Tallarico it was their first attempts at the respective distances.
