Furman and McShay Run PSAC Qualifying Times at Bucknell Open

LEWISBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's indoor track teams took part in day one of the 10th Annual Bison Open & Multi at Gerhard Fieldhouse on the campus of Bucknell University on Friday.

In men's action the Huskies had Bobby Furman (Broomall/Marple Newton) run a personal-best time of 15:38 in the 5000-meter race, which was also a PSAC-championship qualifying time. In the same event, Auston Martzall (Myerstown/ELCO) was just three seconds off the PSAC qualifying mark with a time of 15:59.

In the Hepthathlon Jamie Waack (Leesport/Schuylkill Valley) finished day one with 2,390 points. He posted marks of 7.04 in the 55 meters; Long Jump-5.98m (19' 7 3/4), Shot Put-11.20m(36' 8), and High Jump-1.72m(5' 7 3/4). In the shot put, Marc Francola (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) threw 12.94m (42' 5 1/2).

For the women, Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) ran a personal-best and PSAC qualifying time of 19:02 in the 5000 meters. In addition, Shannon Hoffman (Watsontown/Warrior Run) was just six seconds off the PSAC qualifying time in the 5000 meters after posting a time of 19:30.
