Huskies Compete at Susquehanna Maroon and Orange Invitational

SELINSGROVE--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's indoor track teams took part in the Maroon and Orange Classic on Saturday at Susquehanna University.
For the men, Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton) had his first collegiate win ever in the 5000-meter event in a PSAC-qualifying time of 15:48.36, while Bobby Furman (Broomall/Marple Newton) was seventh in 16:06.53. In the 3000-meter race, Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXXIII) took third in 9:00.91. In the pole vault, Mitch Thompson (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) was fifth with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 4.12 meters (13 feet 6 1/4 inches), while Adam Mowry (Maple Glen/Hatboro-Horsham) was ninth in 3.66 meters (12 feet). In the long jump Jamie Waack (Leesport/Schuylkill Valley) finished third in 6.04 meters (19 feet 9 /34 inches), while in the shot put, Marc Francola was fifth in 12.90 meters (42 feet 4 inches).
For the women, Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) was third in the 5000-meters in a PSAC-qualifying time of 18:54.82, while in the 3000-meters Shannon Hoffman (Watsontown/Warrior Run) was fourth in 11:11.59. In the 400-meter event, Katie Corson (Ocean View, NJ/Ocean City) was sixth in 1:03.72, while in the 800-meter race Samantha Rhood (Downingtown/Downingtown West) was seventh in 2:34.35. Corson also finished ninth in the 200-meter race in 28.29 seconds.
In the high jump, Hannah Becker (Grantville/Northern Lebanon) was fifth in 1.47 meters (4 feet 9 3/4 inches), while in the pole vault Julianne Spitzer (Chalfton/Central Bucks West) was sixth in 2.44 meters (8 feet)and established a new school record with the mark. In the shot put, Lauren Dyer had a toss of 8.64 meter (28 feet, one and a half inches). Dyer also established a new school mark in the weight throw with a mark of 27 feet, four and half inches).
