Jamie Waack Sets School Mark in Heptathlon at PSACs


Day Two Results

EAST STROUDSBURG--Bloomsburg University's Jamie Waack (Leesport/Schuylkill Valley) set a school record in the Heptathlon at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track and Field championships.

Waack scored 4,223 points in the two-day competition to break his old mark of 4,047 points. Waack was second in the 1000 meters on Sunday in 2:48.44; had a jump of 3.16 meters (10 feet, four and a quarter inches) in the pole vault; and ran the 55 meter hurdles in 9.15 seconds.

In the men's 3000 meters, Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was 11th in 8:48.86, the seventh fastest time in school history, while Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton Area) ran a 9:06.52.

In the women's 3000-meter event, Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) ran a 10:44.76, while Shannon Hannon (Watsontown/Warrior Run) finished in 10:56.60.
