Bloomsburg Competes At Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's indoor track teams took part in the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 21st.
In the pole vault, Julianna Spitzer (Chalfont/Central Bucks West) tied her own school record with a mark of 2.75 meters (9 feet 1/4 inches), while Katie Corson (Ocean View, NJ/Ocean City) ran a time of 28.04 in the 200-meters and ran a top-five all-time best time in school history at 400-meters with a time of 62.70 seconds.
In the weight throw, Laura Schlotterbeck set a school record in the weight throw with a toss of 10.57 meters (34 feet 8 1/4 inches).
For the men, Sam Mowry (Maple Glen/Hatboro-Horsham) was fifth in the pole vault in 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5 1/4 inches), while Mitchell Thompson (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) was sixth with the same distance. In the long jump, Jamie Waack (Leesport/Schuylkill Valley) was eighth in 6.01 meters (19 feet, 8 and 3/4 inches). At 3000-meters, Jared Arnold (Philadelphia/George Washington Carver) was eighth in 9:19.23, while Zack Sterkenberg (Palmyra/Palmyra) was 10th in 9:23.81.
Bloomsburg will take part in the PSAC Indoor championships next weekend at East Stroudsburg.
