BU Competes At Susquehanna Invitational


Final Results

SELINSGROVE--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's indoor track teams had a couple of conference championship qualifying performances on Saturday at the Susquehanna University Indoor Invitational.

Qualifying for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships in the mile were Shannon Hoffman (Watsontown/Warrior Run) who ran a 5:25.49, a time also good for 10th on the school's all-time best list and Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) with a time of 5:27.75. In the pole vault, Julianna Spitzer (Chalfont/Central Bucks West) broke her own school record with a mark of 2.75 meters (9'25") and also qualified for the PSAC championships.

Katie Corson (Ocean View, NJ/Ocean City) set a school record in the 200-meters with a time of 27.85 seconds, while Lauren Dyer (Perkasie/Pennridge) broke her own school record in the 20# weight throw with a mark of 9.68 meters (31' 9.25"). On the men's side, Josh Encarnacion (Shillington/Gov. Mifflin) regained the school record in the 35# weight throw with a mark of 11.51 meters (37' 9.25").

In the women's 400-meters, Corson ran a time of 62.64 seconds, third best in school history, while Connor Showalter (Media/Penncrest) ran a 2:02.62 in the 800-meters, seventh best in school history. In the mile Dave Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) ran a 4:33.95, seventh all-time in school history.
