Bloomsburg Falls to Bloomfield in Women's BasketballALBANY, NY —Bo Jean scored a team-high 12 points to lead Bloomfield College to a 59-51 win over Bloomsburg University in women's basketball action Saturday afternoon. The game was the first of three for the Huskies at the Capital Key Classic in Albany, NY and hosted by the College of St. Rose. Bloomsburg suffered from poor shooting throughout the game hitting just 33 percent of its shots in the opening half and 34 percent for the game. Two of the Huskies top scorers, Jen Bryan and Meggi Rothermel, both struggled from the floor with Bryan scoring four and Rothermel two points. The Huskies fell behind by eight points at halftime, 34-26, and played the Lady Deacons even in the second half. Turnovers also plagued the Huskies as they turned the ball over 27 times compared with 17 for Bloomfield. Leading the way for Bloomsburg was Karen Yeasted with 18 point while also grabbing 12 rebounds. Sophomore Michelle Albanese scored nine points with Meaghan Roe getting seven points. Jeon was the only player in double figures for Bloomfield, now 6-2. The Huskies, 4-2, drop into the consolation bracket of the tournament and will face Wilmington College at 10a.m. on Sunday. |
