Assistant Coach Mandy King
Mandy King is in her second season with the Huskies. King came to Bloomsburg from The College of New Jersey where she served as the assistant women's basketball coach while completing her Master's Degree. Under King's guidance in 2001, TCNJ won the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship and made it to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championships. King earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from The College of New Jersey in 2001. Prior to her experience at The College of New Jersey, King served as an Educational Technician at Gorham High School in Gorham, ME, where she began her coaching career. In her one season as assistant coach, her team won the 1999 Maine State Championship. While at Gorham, she also served as Athletic Administrative Assistant and as support personnel for students with special needs and learning disabilities. As an undergraduate, King played basketball at the University of Southern Maine, where she was a team captain her junior and senior seasons. She was a four-year starting point guard leading her team to three Little East Conference Championships. King, an All-Little East Conference selection, played an integral role in helping Southern Maine make it to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 1996 and 1997 and to the National Championship game in 1998. She received the National Comeback Athlete of the Year Award from Training & Conditioning magazine after suffering her second career threatening knee injury in 1995. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Southern Maine in 1998. |
