Bloomsburg Falls to Clarion in Women's Basketball

CLARION —Clarion University had four players in double figures as it downed Bloomsburg University 66-47 on Saturday afternoon,
Clarion led by just two at halftime, 25-23, but started the second half with 13-2 run to lead 38-25 with 14:55 to play in the game. After back-to-back baskets from Bloomsburg's Jamie Kauczka (Mountaintop/Wyoming Valley West) got the Huskies within nine points, 38-29, the Golden Eagles's Heather Cigich scored five of Clarion's next nine points to get the lead back to 15.
Bloomsburg did cut the deficit to within 10 points, 49-39, on a three-pointer by Meggi Rothermel (Minersville/Nativity BVM) with 7:44 to play, but that would be as close as the Huskies would get.
Cigich led Clarion (6-1) with 20 points, while Shay Goodwin added 17 points and 15 rebounds. Amelia Harris and Melba Morton each chipped in with 11 points each.
Bloomsburg (2-3) was led by Kauczka's 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Rothermel added 12 points.
The Huskies are idle till December 20th when they host Edinboro at 5:30 p.m.
