The two teams traded leads in the early going with Edinboro holding a 10-8 advantage with 14:51 left in the opening half on a layup by Maria Divecchio. But, Bloomsburg would grab the lead for good on its next possession when Albanese hit the first of her four three-pointers for the game to give the Huskies an 11-10 lead. The Huskies make it 15-10 when Kelly Burkhart (Sayre/Athens) hit a pair of free throws. After an Edinboro bucket made it 15-12, the Huskies went on an 11-0 run.

Meggi Rothermel (Minersville/Nativity BVM) started the rally with a layup followed by a three-pointer from Burkhart. Jamie Kauczka (Larksville/Wyo. Valley West) then rebounded a miss and scored before Dana Thompson (Pocono Lake/Allentown, NJ) finished off the run with back to back baskets.

Later in the period the Huskies would stretch the lead to 22 points, 37-15, on free throws from Gabe Miskinis.

In the second half, Albanese hit a three-pointer just 37 seconds into the period for her 1,000th career point as a Huskie. She is the 15th player in school history to reach the milestone.

Bloomsburg held a 20-point lead for much of the second half before a late Edinboro rally cut the deficit to 14 points, 71-57 with 1:45 left. But, that would be as close as the visitors would come as the Huskies got the 15-point win.

Bloomsburg got 19 points and five rebounds from Albanese, while Kauczka added 11 and Rothermel 10 for the Huskies, now 3-3.

Edinboro, 6-2, was led by Divecchio with 17 points, while Kelly Calderone added 11.

The Huskies are back in action on Jan. 4th, 2005 hosting Slippery Rock at 5:30 p.m.
