Bloomsburg's Kauczka Named to All-PSAC East First Team
BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University's women's basketball player Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/ Wyoming Valley West) has been named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division First Team for the 2005-06 season. It is the second consecutive year that Kauczka has been named to the All-Conference team. She was named to the second team in 2004-05.
Kauczka, a senior forward and co-captain, led the Huskies in several categories this season, including points (372), points per game, (14.3), rebounds per game (8.8), steals per game (1.6), and field goal percentage (47.6%). She ranked ninth in the PSAC in scoring, fourth in rebounding, and 11th in field goal percentage. Kauczka also registered a double-double in nine games this season and was the team's leading scorer in 13 games.
The highlight of her season came when she scored her 1,000th career point in a 53-50 win over Mansfield on January 25th., becoming just the 16th person in school history to score more than 1,000 points in her career. Kauczka finished her career with 1,117 points, ranking 12th all-time in school history. Her 711 career rebounds also ranks ninth in school history.
Joining Kauczka on the first-team is Dominique Lewis of West Chester, Danielle Marshall of Millersville, Maryellen Onofre of East Stroudsburg, and Alison Tagliaferri and Jessica Uhrich of Mansfield.
