Box Score
WASHINGTON, DC--The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to the District of Columbia (UDC) on Friday by a score of 74-53.
After Bloomsburg's Kirby Johnson (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) hit a three-pointer to open the game, the Lady Firebirds came back and used a 22-9 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 10-point lead (22-12). The Huskies Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) helped Bloomsburg get to within five, 22-17, after hitting a three-pointer, before the home team ended the half with a 12-3 run to take a 14-point lead into the locker room.
That would be as close as the Huskies would get in the game as UDC pulled away in the second half for the win.
Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) led the Huskies with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson chipped in with nine points.
Robin Williams scored 15 points for the Lady Firebirds in the win.
Bloomsburg will host West Chester on Monday in a PSAC Eastern Division matchup starting at 5:30 p.m.
