Changes Coming to Women's Basketball Coaching Staff
BLOOMSBURG--Bloomsburg University has announced that it will begin a search for a new women's basketball coach to replace Tammy Millsaps. Millsaps was appointed head coach on Jan. 3, 2005.
"We appreciate the hard work and dedication Tammy Millsaps has given to our basketball program during her tenure as head coach," said Dr. Preston Herring, Vice-President for University and Student Affairs at Bloomsburg University. "However, after much discussion and consideration, both coach Millsaps and the University feel it is in the best interest of the program to make a change at this time."
"I am thankful to God that he has afforded me the opportunity to coach here at Bloomsburg," said Millsaps. "I do not hold any ill will towards anyone and have enjoyed my time working with the student-athletes. I leave with a lot of great memories and I'll take the experiences I have learned here to my next institution."
"I wish to also thank Mary Gardner and Kathleen Heitzman for all the help they have given to me," Millsaps continued. "They've allowed me to grow both personally and professionally."
A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
