Bloomsburg Tennis at PSAC Individual Championships

INDIANA, PA —The Bloomsburg University men's and women's tennis teams are taking part in the 2005 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Individual Championships at IUP.

On the women's side, the Huskies had opening round wins from Lindsey Wyckoff (North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Emily Murphy (Worcester/Methacton) before losing in the second round. Also, Iida Hokkanen (Helsinki, Finland) won both her second round and quarterfinal match to move into Saturday's semi-finals.

On the men's side, Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) ,Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) and Mark Farnsworth (Audubon (Methacton) both won opening round matches with McGrath moving on to the semi-finals with a win in his quarterfinal match.

In doubles action for the women, Lauren Colfer (Philadelphia/St. Basil Academy) and Tracy Nissenbaum (Allentown (Sagemont, FL) won their opening round match before losing in the quarterfinals.

On the men's side, Gal and McGrath advanced to the finals with a win in the quarterfinals.

Action continues on Saturday at IUP.
