Bloomsburg Duals Women's Tennis Results
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team got two wins on Friday over California (PA) and Franklin Pierce. With the wins, the Huskies move to 7-5 on the season, 4-0 in the PSAC.
In the 8-1 win over California, the Huskies swept all three doubles matches. At one, Iida Hokkanen (Helsinki, Finland) and Emily Pratt (New Hope/New Hope-Solebury) won a tight 9-7 match, while at second and third, Bloomsburg got two easy 8-1 wins. At two, Tracy Nissenbaum (Allentown/Sagemont, FL) and Lauren Colfer (Philadelphia/St. Basil Academy) got a quick 8-1 win, while at third, Emily Murphy (Montgomery/ Methacton) and Kim Harvey (Jamesport, NY/Riverhead) won by the same score.
In singles, Hokkanen got a 6-2, 6-0 win, while at second, Murphy came back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-0, 12-10. At third, Harvey got a 6-2, 6-0 win, while at fifth, Torie Cunningham (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) got a 6-4, 6-0 win. At six singles, Colfer rolled to an easy 6-0, 6-0 win.
In the second match of the day, the Huskies cruised to a 9-0 win over Franklin Pierce. Starting with singles, the Huskies dropped only 13 games as a team. At first, Hokkanen got a 6-1, 6-1 win, while at second, Murphy won 6-0, 6-2. At third Lindsey Wyckoff (North Canton, OH/Hoover) got a 6-1, 6-0 win, while Colfer again rolled to an easy win at 6-0, 6-1. At fifth singles, Nissenbaum won 6-2, 6-4, while at fifth, Pratt got a 6-1, 6-0 win.
In doubles, Hokkanen and Pratt won 8-3 at one, while at two, Colfer and Harvey won 8-0. At third, Cunningham and Wyckoff won, 8-1.
The Huskies will travel to Millersville on Tuesday for a rematch of last year's PSAC semifinal match. The match will begin at 3:00 p.m.
