Women's Tennis Gets PSAC Win over Shippensburg

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team got their first PSAC win of the season with a 9-0 victory over Shippensburg.

At first doubles, Iida Hokkanen (Helsinki, Finland) and Emily Pratt (New Hope/New Hope-Solebury) came back from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Lady Raiders, 8-4. At second doubles, Tracy Nissenbaum (Allentown/Sagemont, FL) and Kim Harvey (Jamesport, NY/Riverhead) won their match, 8-2, while at third, Emily Murphy (Montgomery/Methacton) and Lauren Colfer (Philadelphia/St. Basil Academy) won by the same score.

In singles, Hokkanen got a 6-1, 6-2 win at first, while Murphy won her match at second singles, 6-3, 6-0. At third and fourth, Lindsey Wyckoff (North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Torie Cunningham (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) got identical 6-1, 6-1 wins. At fifth singles, Colfer got a 6-1, 6-3 win, while at sixth, Brande Hansteen (Wyncote/Cheltenham) won, 6-1, 6-0.

The Huskies will host PSAC-rival Indiana (PA) tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
