Women's Tennis Downs Millersville
BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's tennis finished its PSAC East regular season competition with an 8-1 win over Millersville on Monday. With the win, the Huskies move to 13-2 on the season,
4-0 in the PSAC East.
On the women's side, the Huskies started out the match sweeping the doubles. The first doubles team of Iida Hokkanen (Helsinki, Finland/Aurajoen Lukio Turku) and Torie Cunningham (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) got an 8-2 win. At second doubles Lindsey Wyckoff (North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Emily Murphy (Montgomery/ Methacton) blanked their opponents, 8-0, while at the third position, Lauren Colfer (Philadelphia/St. Basil's Academy) and Tracy Nissenbaum (Allentown/Sagemont, FL) won, 8-2.
In singles, Murphy recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win at the second position, while at third, Cunningham got a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) win. At fourth, Wyckoff won 6-2, 6-1, while Colfer cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles. Nissenbaum rounded out the line-up with a 6-1, 6-0 win at sixth.
The Huskies will host their final regular season match against Bucknell tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
