Wyckoff Named PSAC East Tennis Player of the Week
BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University senior Lindsey Wyckoff (North Canton, OH/ Hoover) was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending April 16th. It is the second time this season she has won the award.
Wyckoff, who went 4-0 in doubles and singles matches combined, led the Huskies to a 2-0 week, defeating PSAC rival Kutztown University 5-4 on Wednesday and Queens College 6-3 on Saturday. On Wednesday, Wyckoff and partner Tracey Nissenbaum (Allentown/ William Allen) picked up the only doubles win for the Huskies, winning 10-8 against Kutztown. She then defeated Kutztown's Lauren Losoncy 6-2, 7-5 at number five singles. On Saturday, Wyckoff and doubles partner Emily Murphy (Worcester/ Methacton) defeated the Queen's doubles team 8-2, while at number four singles, Wyckoff defeated Queen's Tina Shmulenich 6-0, 6-1
For the year, Wyckoff is 14-4 in singles matches and is 14-2 at doubles. Wyckoff has won 11 of her last 12 singles matches, with her only loss coming against Division I Duquesne University. She has not lost to a Division II opponent since September 17, when she dropped a match to Clarion University.
Bloomsburg, 13-2, 4-0 in the PSAC, will host Bucknell in its final regular season match at 5:30 p.m.
