Bloomsburg Beats East Stroudsburg in WrestlingEAST STROUDSBURG The Bloomsburg University wrestling team rallied from a early 12-6 deficit to defeat East Stroudsburg University 23-15 in college wrestling action Friday night. East Stroudsburg took the early lead picking up a forfeit win at 125 to go up 6-0. After the Huskies Justin Haupt pinned Jeff Smith in 50 seconds at 133 pounds to tie the score, the Warriors Mark Smith posted a 5-3 win over Mark Piermattei to give ESU a 9-6 lead. At 149 pounds, Keith Kleckner scored a 7-1 decision over Bloomsburg's Brad Forbes leaving the Huskies with a 12-6 deficit. At 157 pounds, George Carter won his 27th match of the year with a 10-2 major decision over Keith Smith to make the score 12-10 in favor of ESU. Then at 165 pounds Ryan Garner scored a 12-7 win to give Bloomsburg its first lead of the night at 13-12. Bloomsburg's Hunter Guenot then won 10-2 over John Carr at 174 pounds giving Bloomsburg a 17-12 lead. The Huskies extended their lead to 23-12 when Chad Hoare won 6-2 at 184 pounds and Andy Ludlow, an East Stroudsburg native), beat Stanley Foster 6-2. The final bout of the night went to East Stroudsburg's heavyweight Mike Pahira who knocked off Pat Spirelli, 7-3. Bloomsburg, 8-7, will host Rutgers Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the final dual meet of the year.
