Jim Bertulis pinned Frank Beasley with 15 seconds remaining in the third period to pick up the win at 165 pounds. Bertulis had built up a 12-7 lead over Beasley before the fall.

In one of the evening's most dominating performances, Bryce Hasseman won by technical fall over Brock Troutman, 20-5. Hasseman was up 16-3 before scoring two more takedowns in the third for the win at 174 pounds.

Freshman Mike Spaid picked up the win at heavyweight over Sean Albert. After a scoreless first period, Albert chose bottom to start the second. Spaid caught Albert and picked up the pin with three seconds remaining in the second period.

“Overall I felt we wrestled well as a team,” said coach Dan Wirnsberger. “We are still a young team with a lot of work to do. I was just happy to get these kids into a competitive setting. I was pleased with the turnout and I'm glad how the new guys responded to this environment.”

The Huskies open their regular season on November 13th, at the Oklahoma Gold Classic at Brockport, NY.
