Two Bloomsburg Wrestlers Ranked
BLOOMSBURG - Bloomsburg University wrestlers Mike Sees (Northumberland/Shikellamy) and Mike Spaid (Perkiomenville/Boyertown) remain ranked in the latest Inter-Mat/NWCA/NWMA NCAA Division One Wrestling Rankings for the week of February13th. Sees held steady seventh place at 125 pounds, while Spaid dropped one spot to 10th place.
Sees, a senior, has a record of 26-3 on the season. He had a standout performance in back-to-back matches against Clarion and Cleveland State. Against Clarion, Sees rolled up a 16-5 victory over the Golden Eagles Nate Ivanco, and followed that up the next night with an 18-3 major decision over Cleveland State's Ryan Riggs. Sees is tied for third in the nation in both technical falls with eight and major decisions with 11.
Spaid, a senior, has a record of 33-5 this season. Against Clarion, Spaid dominated the Golden Eagles Roman Husam on the way to a 12-3 major decision. The next night against Cleveland State, Spaid won a decisive 5-0 victory over 18th ranked Rashard Groff of Cleveland State. Spaid is currently tied for fifth nationally in falls with 15 and ninth in total victories with 33. Before falling to Central Michigan's Bubba Gritter on Sunday, Spaid had a perfect record in dual meets this season.
Bloomsburg returns to action on February 15th, when they travel to Lock Haven. The dual meet gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
