Bloomsburg Wrestling Falls to West Virginia
BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University won the first three bouts of the night, but West Virginia rallied winning six of the final seven to post a 19-16 win over the Huskies.
Bloomsburg jumped out in front with wins from Ian Moser (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) at 125 pounds, Jason Guffey (Muncy/Warrior Run) at 133 and Ricky Donald (Millville/Millville) at 141. Donald won his match with a 6-4 sudden victory getting a takedown 30 seconds into the extra session. West Virginia, though, started its comeback with a win at 149 pounds in a 4-2, overtime, tie-breaker.
Bloomsburg's Matt Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) followed with a win by technical fall, 17-2, which gave the Huskies a 16-3 lead. Moley had five takedowns and three near falls in his win.
West Virginia then won the next five bouts to post the win.
Bloomsburg, 5-6, will wrestle at Clarion on Jan. 30, 7 p.m.
