Huskies Fourth At Body Bar Invitational

ITHACA, NY-- The Bloomsburg University wrestling team finished tied for fourth at the Body Bar Invitational in Ithaca, NY on Saturday. The Huskies finished tied with the United States Military Academy for fourth with 81.5 points each.
Bloomsburg's top finishers were Matt Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) at 157 pounds and Ricky Schmelyun (New Oxford/Bermudian Springs) at 165 pounds who both took second.
Moley had two technical falls and a major decision on his way to second, while Schmelyun had two wins by fall before losing in the championship bout. Moley beat Julian Colon 17-0 in his first bout, then after picking up a major decision, took care of John Basting of Cornell in the semifinals by a 17-1 score. Schmelyun pinned Sli Bostleman of Kent State in 4:14 in his first bout, then later pinned Tyler Sherley of Boise State in 3:16 in the semis.
In addition, Ian Moser (Dover, DE/Ceasar Rodney) took third for the Huskies at 125 pounds, while Jason Guffey (Muncy/Warrior Run) finished fourth at 133 pounds, George Hickman (Castle Hayne, NC/Riverside) fifth at 149 pounds, and Ricky Donald (Millville/Millville) sixth at 141 pounds.
Bloomsburg will wrestle in the Northeast Duals on Saturday in Albany, NY.
