Matt Moley Named EWL Wrestler of the Week


BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University wrestler Matt Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) was named the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Wrestler of the Week for the period ending Nov. 30.

Moley, ranked 11th by Intermat wrestling, posted three wins at the Journeymen/Brute Northeast Duals in Troy, NY on Saturday. In his first match Moley posted a win by major decision over Andrew Saunders of UNC-Greensboro, 9-0. Then in his second bout bested Kaylen Baxter of Old Dominion by a score of 6-0. In his final match of the event Moley downed Iowa's Matt Ballweg 5-1. Both Baxter and Ballweg are nationally ranked by WrestlingReport.com, Baxter at 29th in the nation and Ballweg at 31st. His three wins give him a season record of 11-2.

A two-time NCAA qualifier, Moley was eighth last year at the NCAA championships to earn All-American honors.

Bloomsburg wrestles at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships on Saturday at Mercyhurst.
