Docherty was also named first team All-PSAC and first team All-Northeast Region this season. She started all but the first game for the Huskies and was part of a defense that allowed just 17 goals scored during the year. She also had one assist during the season, which came against Philadelphia. In addition, she reads the game tremendously well and has a lot of poise and composure in directing the defense as a freshman. Docherty also has the ability to serve balls and get out of tight situations. She helped the Huskies to a record of 13-6-2 and the 2002 PSAC Championship. The Huskies also advanced to the NCAA championships where it lost an opening round game.

Before Bloomsburg she played for the Council Rock Destroyers club team and was a 5-year EPYSA Pennsylvania State team member.

Docherty's All-American award for Bloomsburg gives the Huskies at least one All-American in each of the past 12 years.
