Bloomsburg Loses to Kutztown in Women's Soccer

KUTZTOWN —Kutztown University broke a 1-1 halftime tie with three second half goals on its way to a 4-1 win over Bloomsburg University in women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

The Golden Bears took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Kim Kelty 6:50 into the game. The Huskies knotted the score at 1-1 on a Brittany McKew (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall) goal, the first of her career, at the 26 minute mark off an assist from Erin Snyder.

The score remained tied until the 51-minute mark when Kutztown's Ashley Smith scored off an assist from Kelty. Then the Golden Bears made it 3-1 on a Lauren Tatro's penalty kick goal with 21 minutes to play. Kutztown's Missy Dailey finished the scoring with a goal five minutes later.

Bloomsburg falls to 4-7, 3-4 in the PSAC, with the loss, while Kutztown goes to 7-3-2, 3-2-1 in the PSAC. The Huskies host West Chester in a makeup game Thursday at 3 p.m.
