Bloomsburg Shuts Out Lock Haven in Women's Soccer

LOCK HAVEN —Sarah Fick (Hamburg/Fleetwood) scored once and had one assist and goalie Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) posted a shutout in her first collegiate game to lead Bloomsburg University to a 3-0 win over Lock Haven in women's soccer action.

Frick assisted on a goal by Becky Ritter (Philipsburg/Philipsburg-Osceola) 29 minutes into the game to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Then seven minutes later Jill Perruquet (Danville/Danville) scored on a scramble in front of the net off an assist from Christine Mazurek (Hatfield/North Penn) for a 2-0 Huskies' lead. Frick then capped off the game's scoring just before halftime with an unassisted goal.

From there, goalie Gerber stopped all seven shots on goal by the Lady Eagles as the Huskies picked up their first win of the season.

Bloomsburg, 1-1, will play at Mansfield on Saturday at 1 p.m.
