Bloomsburg Downs Mansfield in Women's Soccer

BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University defeated Mansfield University, 4-1, in women's soccer action on Tuesday behind a goal and an assist from Jen Fico (Monroe, Ct/Masuk).

In the first half of play, Mansfield got on the board first on a goal by Vanessa Wengen, off a corner kick by teammate Megan Colbey, 10:42 into the game. Bloomsburg evened the score 22 minutes later as Erin Snyder (Catawissa/Southern Columbia) scored on a crossing pass from Fico to tie the game heading into the break.

In the second half, the Huskies dominated play, scoring three goals and going on to win their sixth game of the year. Jen Fico, Becky Ritter (Phillipsburg/Phillipsburg-Osceola), and Jill Perruquet (Danville/Danville) all recorded second half goals, with assists going to Lauren Hess (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen), Alex Totino (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Sachem North), and Jill Huffman (Bausman/Lampeter-Strasburg).

In goal, Bloomsburg's Brittany Moses (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) earned her second win of the year, making five saves.

Bloomsburg, 6-7, 5-4 in the PSAC, will host Philadelphia on Saturday at noon.
