Huskies Tie in Women's Soccer

BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University women's soccer team tied with Philadelphia University, 1-1 in double overtime game. Junior Jen Fico (Monroe, CT/Masuk) scored the only goal in the game for the Huskies.

In the last minute of the game, the Huskies got a shot on goal, but the shot was stopped by Philadelphia goalie Lauri Cain.

Philadelphia got an opportunity to score in the first over time on a penalty kick with 3:40 remaining. The kick missed high, but Philadelphia got another chance to score, but couldn't capitalize on the corner kick opportunity.

In the second overtime period, the Huskies got another chance to score, but Cain came up with another big save for the Rams.

In goal for the Huskies, Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) recorded seven saves.

The Huskies travel next to East Stroudsburg, Monday at 2 pm.
