Huskies Advance to PSAC Playoffs in Women's Soccer

BLOOMSBURG —Sarah Fick (Hamburg/Fleetwood Area) scored a goal with 3:06 remaining in the first half to carry the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Shippensburg. With the win, the Huskies advance to the PSAC playoffs next week.

Fick put the ball in the net on an assist from Nicole Yerkes (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) late into the first half to lead the Huskies to the win. The Lady Raiders took their last shot with 6:07 remaining, but Bloomsburg goalie Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) came up with a big save to keep the Huskies on top. Gerber finished the game with four saves as the Huskies outshot the Lady Raiders, 11-7.

Bloomsburg, now 8-8-1, 7-4-1 in the PSAC, will travel to West Chester for the first round of the conference playoffs with a date and time to be announced.
