Bloomsburg Beats East Stroudsburg in Women's Soccer

EAST STROUDSBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team defeated East Stroudsburg on Wednesday by a 2-1 score.

The Huskies needed just 25 seconds to get on the board when Katie Armitage (Saylorsburg/Saylorsburg) scored unassisted to put Bloomsburg in front 1-0.

Ashley Brucker (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) put Bloomsburg in front 2-0 when she also scored unassisted just 2:22 into the second half of action. The game stayed 2-0 until the 66th minute when the Warriors' Chelsey Quaglietta scored to cut the margin in half.

However, the Huskies were able to hold off a late push by the Warriors for the win.

Bloomsburg improves to 5-5-2, 4-2-1 in the PSAC, and will play at Kutztown on Saturday at noon.
