Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Downs Mansfield

BLOOMSBURG -- A pair of freshman lead the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Mansfield in a Tuesday night Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match-up.
The Huskies and the Mountaineers played tight defense holding at 0-0 until late in the 43rd minute when the Huskies' Aimee Bono (Nanticoke/Nanticoke Area) broke free and beat Mansfield's Justine Segear one-on-one to give BU a 1-0 lead.
In the second half of play, the score remained 1-0 until Suzie Wade (Watsontown/Warrior Run) added an insurance goal with just over a minute to play in the game. Wade pulled the goalie out of position and drove by her to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead.
In the game, Bloomsburg out shot Mansfield 21-6.
For the Mountaineers, Segear finised with five saves while Brittany Moses (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) and Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) combined for three saves for the Huskies.
With the win, Bloomsburg improves to 2-1-1 (2-0-1 PSAC) on the season while Mansfield falls to 0-3-0 (0-3-0 PSAC).
The Huskies will host C.W. Post this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on Bloomsburg's grass field.
