Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Plays to Tie with Mansfield

BLOOMSBURG -- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against Mansfield in a Tuesday evening Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match-up.

Neither team could manage a goal in the first half however, just 15 seconds into the second half, Mansfield's Anita Valerio scored unassisted from 25 yards out to give the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead. Just under 16 minutes later, Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) tied the score at 1-1 with her team-leading sixth goal of the year. Both teams played scoreless soccer over the next 27 minutes to send the game into overtime.

Bloomsburg's Brittany Moses (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) saved a shot in each of the overtime periods, but neither team scored to end the game in a 1-1 tie.

For Mansfield (3-9-1, 2-6-1 PSAC), Justine Segear had six saves. Moses also finished with six saves for Bloomsburg (5-6-3, 4-3-2 PSAC).

The Huskies are idle until next Wednesday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 6:30 p.m. game.
